Getting to Hotel

Hotel Cosmopolit lies within the Centar Municipality of Sarajevo. The airport is about 9 to 10 kilometers west of downtown.

Most commonly by taxi: A ride should cost somewhere between 20 and 30 BAM (Convertible Marks) - approximately 10-15 EUR. Note: Tourists sometimes get overcharged by the airport taxi drivers. Strong recommendation to use “Red Taxi” (Crveni Taxi) or “Samir & Emir” taxi apps/phone numbers if possible, or at least negotiate a fare before getting into the car. The trip takes about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

By Bus: The Centrotrans Eurolines airport bus from the airport to the city (Baščaršija) has a schedule approximately once every hour, in coordination with flight arrivals. You can get off at “Bank” or “Park” stop near BBI Center/Aria Mall which is very close to the hotel. The ticket is cheap (about 5 BAM).

FROM MAIN BUS/TRAIN STATION (AUTOBUSKA STANICA) The station is about 2 km away.

By Tram: This is as close to a local experience as it gets. Walk to the nearest tram stop by the station and board Tram #1 heading toward the city center. Alight at either Bank or Drvenija stop-both are five minutes' walk from the hotel.

By Taxi: Taxis are also very cheap from the station to the hotel, most probably less than 10 BAM (5 EUR).

By Car: Sarajevo is full of one-way streets. People’s attitude toward driving can best be described as aggressive. The hotel happens to sit on a corner of a one-way grid.

Parking: The hotel has a tiny private garage/parking area that must be reserved in advance (usually for a daily fee of around 10-15 EUR). If it is full, they will direct you to a nearby public parking garage which is also quite expensive.

Navigation: Use Google Maps. Stay out of the tram lanes! Unless signage explicitly permits driving in that lane, do not drive there.
